1.  Dressing

There are 4 climate types in China mainland, with different scenery in every season, temperate continental climate and subtropical monsoon climate covers most region that foreign students live with. In these region, summer is hot, accompany with rain season sometimes; winter is cold and dry, seldom with rain season. When make arrival preparation, it would be better for you to check the climate of destination, bring enough and suitable clothes including heavy coats, T-shirts/Shirts, topcoat and umbrella.


2. Food

Chinese foods are famous for various types and long history, which can catch a glimpse of world-renowned documentary 《A Bite of China》. Like most Asian countries, China has rice and wheat as the staple food, supplemented by vegetables, fruits, Tuber Crops, poultry meat, making excellent flavor and taste of food. You will be loving it!


Ma po tofu:  It is spicy, numbing, hot, aromatic and tender. With the yummiest Mapo Tofu you could enjoy several more bowls of steamed rice.

Hotpot: It consists of a simmering metal pot with broth at the center of a table, and all raw ingredients placed beside the metal pot, so people can add and cook whatever they like in the broth. 

Kung Pao Chichen: This highly addictive stir-fried chicken continues to be one of the most popular Chinese dishes in world as the succulent, complex sauce of salty, sweet, sour, and spicy flavors is hard to forget.

Dumpling: It is very traditional on New Year’s Eve (Spring Festival) for the whole family to get together and make Jiaozi .The Jiaozi is seen as a lucky food; reason being is because of the shape they are made to. 

Moreover, for a overseas student, the most interesting thing they will learn in China could be is how to use chopsticks.

In most China cities, airplane\train\metro\bus\ship are main public transportation tools; while sharing bicycle\taxi\Electric Vehicle is supplemented as personal transportation tools. The various transportation tools could facilitate your life in utmost. Sharing bicycle is pretty popular among students, which enable you and your friends organize city tour at any time.

Here are some popular Apps, it could make your life easier in China


WeChat: also known as “weixin” by most Chinese, it provides instant messaging, digital stickers, payment services and more! Wechat has surpassed 700 million monthly active users in China. After student arrived at school, teacher will release notices about school routine by Wechat group.

DiDi: also known as “Uber of the East”, which is a mobile transportation platform, offering a full range of commuting options to 400 cities in China. You could use it take taxi, rent a car, etc.

Mobike: Sharing bicycle is very popular among China, such as Mobike and OFO, they’re well equipped and could ride at anywhere; Only need to scan the QR code and pay deposit of the bicycle, deposit usually range from 200 to 300 RMB, then you could taking bicycle with very cheap rent price, which calculate by hour. 

Alipay: Zhifubao in Chinese, is a third-party mobile and online payment platform, you could use it transfer money or buying goods online/offline, order a meal at home, charge telephone fee, etc. Alipay take cares of every aspect in one’s life.
